Civil War Era Ross Family Album with CDVs (Cartes de Visites), circa 1860s.
Surnames: Ross and Locations: New Jersey, New York
Inscription reads "Presented Miss Louisa Cain" and the handwriting is similar to that in the album index. There are 39 photos in this album but only 12 are indentified by name. List of photos as identified in album index in period handwriting
- William Ross
- Sarah Ann Ross
- Jos. B. Ross
- Isaac C. Ross
- kate Ross
- Hannah Ross
- Col. Daniel Ross
- David R. Ross
- Sarah T Ross
- Phebe Ross
- Lizzie Ross
- Frank Ross
Unfortunately the index is not numbered and thus the names do not match photos in the album. We took camera shots of the photos in the album but I have not yet removed them from their slots to scan. Because they are camera pictures of an album (book) with open pages, the photos are not perfectly aligned. Here they are for your enjoyment. If any researcher recognizes an ancestor please let Lorine know so we can add a name to a photo. I will be adding full size scans as time permits
