His wife was Mary age 28 born Ireland and his children were his son William J. age 5 and Jennet A. age 3. I assume these are the individuals in the photograph. The 1881 census for Guelph shows William now age 39 with wife Mary M. age 42 and children William James age 15 and Jennet A. age 11 1891 census provides the names of more children for William and Mary Pickard: Annie age 23, Chester & Winnie, tiwns aged 19 and Ethel age 12. In 1901 the family still lives in Wellington County but now they are found in Mount Forest More research turned up William in the 1861 census for Esquising Twp, Halton County Ontario living with his parents William and Anne. William Pickard was a farmer, born England, age 52. His wife Anne was age 41 and also born England. In 1905 Jennett Anne Pickard married John Peter Fisher. Her sister Winnifred Estelle Pickard married James Calder McGilvary on the same day. Perhaps it was a double wedding. Their mother's surname of Newcomb is given in the Marriage Registrations found on Ancestry View all photos on Lost Faces |
