The 1816 Ancaster Township Assessment, Wentworth Co., Home District

Transcribed by Fred Blair with Remarks by the transcriber.
March 26, 2013

There were a number of columns on the assessment form.  Other than the name column, the other columns with regular entries were Acres of Land, Uncultivated and Arable Pasture or Meadow, Horses at Three Years Old and Upwards, Oxen at Four Years Old and Upwards, Milch Cows, and Horned Cattle from Two to Four.  The acreage was recorded in the Home District and not necessarily in Ancaster Twp.  A few men had acreage in other districts and some men had taxable houses, mills, and merchant shops.  Assessment calculations were made in some of the empty columns.

Only the Name column was transcribed.  Remarks by the transcriber are in the second column.
