4 It is noted that the record of birth date and baptismal date conflict. This record is obtained from a section of baptismal records located in the Consistory book separate from and out of order to the other christenings listed (actual page number 59; Van Cleef page numbers 21 & 22), among several provided under the heading "Baptisms by the Revd. Martinus Schoonmaker as far as accounts have been received." This page (59) begins with a baptism performed in 1804, then skips to an entry subheaded 1810, followed by two entries subheaded 1811, before returning to the subheading 1810 for the record for Peter Antonides. The next record in this sequence is subheaded 1811, commencing with the baptism of Joseph Hegeman, son of Joseph Hegeman and Maria Suydam (which has no birth date and no day and month for his baptism). In the McMurtie article on the Antonides family published in the NYG&B Record Vol. LXXXIX (1958) and reprinted in GLIF Vol. I:21-27, the compiler states that this Peter was born in 1810 and baptized in 1811. He cites the Bergen Genealogy (1876) and these FlatbushRDC records. Teunis G. Bergen, in his book on his family, just noted, almost certainly used this same source, making the two sources, in fact, this one. The records are such that placement of Peter's baptism in either 1810 or 1811 can be justified, depending on the correctness of the birth year given. The McMurtie compilation demonstrates that the family of Cornelius Antonides and Maria Van Siclen commenced with a child born in 1799, followed by offspring in 1801 and 1804, before son Peter, purportedly born in 1810. Absent another independent primary record, the present compilers suggest that the birth year is 1809 and that the baptismal year is 1810. McMurtie reports that this Peter died unmarried in 1832, thus there is little significance to the exact placement.
