The word Anno is dropped from the Van Cleef transcriptions at this year. 2. The bride is variously known as Gertrude Ann, Gertrude Jane and Gitty Ann in accounts of the Van Kouwenhoven family. Mr. Cocheu, in his treatment of the family, does not identify this couple. However, Gertrude's parents are noted in GLIF Vol II:582 as Garret Cowenhoven and Maria Bergen. The compilers have a photocopy of a letter written by the subject couple's nephew, Peter Kouwenhoven, from the collections of the Van Kouwenhoven/Conover Family Association, which makes this identification more complete. See also Old Dutch Houses of Brooklyn. (1945). Maud Esther Dilliard.
