Lost Faces: Family Photo Albums
Welcome to a new corner of Olive Tree Genealogy. LOST FACES is my collection of Family Photo Albums. One of my hobbies is going to antique auctions, stores, flea markets and garage sales. Whenever I spot one of those old Photo Albums from the 1800s with family pictures, I have to buy it! I can't bear the thought that the album and photos will be lost or destroyed. Even though they aren't my ancestors, and they can be very expensive, I can't walk away without it.
Lost Faces is my way of saving these genealogy treasures and preserving historical documents. I am gradually listing all the albums I have saved, along with the list of photos and other documents (I have albums that contain funeral cards, memorial cards, obituaries, Christmas cards, and hand-written genealogies) and any research I've done on the family.

I am pleased to now offer individual photographic reproductions for sale! You can purchase a photographic reproduction of any photos from my antique photo albums.
Some of my photo albums are now online in their entirety for you to view and save photos for your own personal use. The Timmerman Family Photo Album is one of those. It has slots for 64 Cabinet Cards and one tintype. 2 Cabinet Cards are missing, for a total of 63 ancestor family photos in this album. I estimate most of the cabinet cards in this album are from the period 1890 - 1910. Surnames are Timmerman (Timmermann), Rahn, Strobel, Fichtner, Freienschner, Bullerman
Also see the complete Civil War Era photo album for the Fisk (Fiske) Family, the Webster Family and the Fowler Merchant Family. The Fisk Family Photo Album was in rough shape and held only 13 Cartes de Visite and Cabinet Cards, but all were identified by name. The Webster Family Photo Album has 30 identified Cartes de Visite (including a few Cabinet Cards), while the Fowler Merchant Family Album is Civil War Era Family Album with 22 CDVs identified by name.
