SHIP BOWDITCH PASSENGER LIST

Contributor: The following ship list plus history of the ship is from Dan Wilson. Read on for the story of James Wilson, Dan's ancestor born in 1821.

My ancestor was James Wilson, age 18, passenger #111, who emigrated from Articlave, Dunboe Parish, Co. Londonderry. He migrated to Mauch Chunk, Carbon Co. PA where it appears he became involved with the emerging anthracite mining business. By 1845, however he had migrated to South Easton in Northampton Co., PA, then in 1847 he had moved to Catasauqua, Lehigh Co., PA where he took emplyment with the Lehigh Crane Iron Works. there he remained until his death in 1879.
