The photos are of excellent quality and are crisp and clear, what a treasure for a descendant. This album is a little unusual in that it has ink names in the album under the photos, plus penciled names on the back (in a different handwriting) and, in some cases, spidery ink writing on the back as well (in a third handwriting) The photos seem to start around 1860 ish and go up to the 1890s, with most being of the Civil War period.
