Hawke Papers

The Archives of Ontario has filmed the records of A.B. Hawke, the Chief Emigrant Agent for Upper Canada (Canada West). The Hawke Papers, formerly the Toronto Emigration Office Records, 1831-1892, includes the Kingston office. There is also a searchable database - the index to the assisted immigration registers created by the Toronto Emigrant Office between 1865 and 1883. Over 29,000 entries have been transcribed from the registers.
