Ontario Special Genealogy Collections

Government of Canada Files (at National Archives of Canada) Search files for various departments, including the Justice Department, for names of individuals and details

Colonial Archives Database contains over 70,000 detailed descriptions (file or item) of textual documents in the archival collection, pertaining primarily to the British and French colonial periods. Hint from Lorine: Use keyword "passagers" to see the 526 entries re passengers to New France, Louisiana etc. These hits will be in French, for other records in English, use English keywords but note that the records are NOT duplicated in both languages! For eg. "passengers" gives 89 hits only

resAnet - Library and Archives Canada's online searchable catalogue

Archives Descriptive Database The Archives Descriptive Database is an online guide to the archival holdings at the Archives of Ontario. Search in Archival Descriptions by surname for that elusive ancestor.

Second Heir and Devisee Commission Case Files Database an index to the 5184 case files that document claims made to the second Heir and Devisee Commission.
