The village of origin of this family was Strüth (12 km. west of Bad Schwalbach), entries in the registers of Welterod (1 km. south of Strüth; Churchbooks begin 1607, but gaps). The PROBABLE father of Conrad was Henrich Wüst. Henrich MAY have been the son of Philipp Wüst. The Pastor at Welterod made a fascinating notation concerning the emigration of Conrad Wüst, as translated by John P. Dern:1709: In this year the winter was terribly cold and because of its fury the spring crop of nut, cherry, and apple trees are almost gone...Koenraat Wÿst, his wife, and 3 children, were on Capt. William Kobÿ's ship in the 5th party of 1709 [Rotterdam Lists)]. Conrad Wüst made his initial appearance on the Hunter Rolls 1 July 1710 with 2 persons over 10 and 2 under 10. The family was registered with 3 persons over 10 and 2 under 10 years 4 Aug 1710, 3 over 10 and 1 under 10 on 4 Oct 1710, 3 over 10 and 2 under 10 on 24 June 1711, 4 persons over 10 and 1 under 10 on 29 Sept 1711, and 3 persons over 10 and 2 under 10 years on 24 Dec 1711. Coenraet Wiest was naturalized 8 and 9 Sept 1715 (Kingston Naturalizations). Conrad Wust and Maria Abel with 5 children were at Wormsdorff circa 1716/17 (Simmendinger Register). Coenradt Twist was a Palatine Debtor in 1718, 1719 (at Kingsberry), and 1721 [Livingston Debt Lists)]. Conrad Wist was a Palatine not willing to remain on the Manor 26 Aug 1724 [Doc. Hist. of NY, III:724)]. Counrat Wiss made his last appearance on Dutchess Co. Tax Rolls in 1733/34 [Dutchess Co. Tax Lists)]. The family was recorded on the St. Peter's Lutheran Family List ca. 1734 [Rhinebeck Lutheran Churchbook).] [Palatine Families of New York 1710; Jones; 1985] Children: i. Anna Catharina WÜST, baptized 22 October 1699 [(Welterod Churchbook, sp: Anna Marg. - wife of Joh. Phil. Metz (?) at Strüd, Henrich Peter Wüst, and Maria Catharina - single daughter of Joh. Henrich Nebendorf, both from Strüd.)] married Georg SCHURTZ 13 January 1719/20 at New York, NY [(New York City Lutheran Churchbook)]. (Kocherthal Records) Anna Catharina Wust took first communion 23 March 1712, at Queensberg. ii. Anna Gertraud WÜST, baptized 17 September 1702 [(Welterod Churchbook, sp: Anna Gertr. - wife of Phil. Knorr at Struth, Anna Marg. - daughter of Joh. Wilhelm Michel at Str., and Joh. Phil. Wüst from Diedhard.)] married Lorentz BECKER. [(Kocherthal Records)] Anna Gerdraut Wust, "whose father and mother are Episcopal", took first communion, St. Stephan's Day, 1716, at Kingsberg. Gertruu Twi(et) was a Palatine Debtor in 1721 [(Livingston Debt Lists)] iii. Philipp Wilhelm WÜST, baptized 31 August 1704 (Welterod Churchbook, sp: Joh. Phil. Koch at Welterod, Anna Eva - widow of Joh. Georg Wüst at Lipp., and Hans Harlo(s) at Strüth.); buried 26 April 1706, aged 1 1/2 yrs., 2 months (Welterod Churchbook). iv. Johann Henrich WÜST baptized 2 July 1706 at Lipporn, (Welterod Churchbook, sp: Joh. Henrich Nebendorff - Gerichts and Sendschoffe at Struth, Anna Marg. - wife of Hans Christ Michel, and Anton Henrich at Struth.); buried 18 Aug 1706, aged 7 weeks (Welterod Churchbook). v. Philipp Wilhelm WÜST, baptized 25 Sept 1707 (Welterod Churchbook, sp: Joh. Phil. Nebendorff at Welterod, Anna Maria - wife of Joh. Jonas Hoffer at Weisel, and Joh. Wilhelm - son of the late Joh. Conrad Huppert at Welterod.). vi. Maria Dorothea WÜST was confirmed 14 Feb 1728 at Rynbek (New York City Lutheran Churchbook); married as 'daughter of Conrad 19 July 1731 at Kamp', Nicolaus MÜLLER (New York City Lutheran Churchbook). vii. Johannes WÜST, born 1713 in NY; married 1st Anna Catharina FROLICH at the Rhinebeck German Reformed Church; married 2nd Catharina 25 February 1756 at the Rhinebeck Flats Reformed Churchbook. viii. Anna Maria WÜST was born 1716 in NY. She was confirmed among the Germans in Beekman's Land in 1731, aged 15 yrs. (N.Y. City Lutheran Churchbook). Anna Maria married 1stJohann Peter ECKARDT; married 2nd Johannes De Graaf 12 July 1761 at Kingston (Kingston Reformed Churchbook, M:1402, Johannes De Graaf, widower of Magdalena Peesharn, and Mareitje Wust, widow of Pieter Ekkert, both reside Kingston.). ix. Anna Elisabetha WÜST, born 17 March 1718/19 (West Camp Lutheran Churchbook, bp. 1719, March 30th: Anna Elisabetha, born March 17th, child of Conrad and Maria Apollonia Wuest; sp: Johann Lerck and Anna Elisabetha Zerb.).
