I have now started two new email discussion lists. One is for the USA and the other for Canada, for immigration records in both countries before passenger lists were mandatory. Here are the details of both of the new lists.

US-SHIPSLISTS-PRE1820
A mailing list for the discussion and sharing of information regarding ship passenger lists, immigration records, naturalization records and ships' lists substitutes for immigration to the United States before 1820.

emigration-ships. A mailing list for anyone who wants to discuss the ships their ancestors arrived on or post passenger lists for any ships. Discussions of the history of specific ships is also within the scope of the list. Mailing address for postings is emigration-ships@genweb.net. To subscribe send email to majordomo@genweb.net with "subscribe emigration-ships" (without the quotes) for mail mode or "subscribe emigration-ships-digest" (without the quotes) for digest mode in the body of your message.
BoatFolks. A mailing list for the discussion and sharing of information regarding the ancestors and descendents of immigrants arriving in the United States prior to 1700. While the list will initially focus on the Mayflower families, all researchers whose ancestors arrived prior to 1700 are welcome. In addition, those who trace their Native American roots back to that time period are welcome ... the Native nations met our boats so it is appropriate that their lines be discussed in connection with the immigrants. Mailing address for postings is boatfolks@egroups.com. You can subscribe from http://www.egroups.com/subscribe/boatfolks or by sending the following to boatfolks-subscribe@egroups.com: subscribe
